Senior Accounting Manager - Cincinnati OH

As a Senior Accounting Manager, you’ll play a key leadership role in overseeing core accounting operations within a collaborative shared services environment. You’ll partner closely with the Controller to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant financial reporting across the organization. From managing the month-end close to driving tax compliance and process improvements, you’ll help shape a strong financial foundation that supports our growth and operational excellence.

What You’ll Do

Accounting & Financial Close

  • Lead accounting operations and ensure smooth month-end, quarter-end, and year-end
  • Review and prepare journal entries and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and GAAP
  • Support intercompany and consolidated accounting
  • Maintain strong internal controls and compliance with company
  • Partner with the Controller to manage audit preparation and coordination for both internal and external audits.

Sales & Use Tax Compliance

  • Oversee multi-jurisdictional sales and use tax compliance, ensuring all filings are accurate and on time.
  • Review transactions for proper tax treatment and maintain exemption documentation.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead, mentor, and develop accounting team members—fostering a culture of accountability, growth, and collaboration.
  • Promote consistent practices and process alignment across accounting
  • Partner cross-functionally with FP&A, revenue, and project accounting to ensure integrated financial reporting.
  • Provide guidance on complex or non-routine

Process Improvement & Systems

  • Identify and drive improvements to workflows, systems, and internal controls within shared
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensure SOX
  • Administer key financial systems (Concur, PNC Virtual Pay, Comerica Credit Card).
  • Support special projects related to system enhancements and process optimization.

Strategic & Continuous Improvement

  • Lead SOX compliance and internal audit readiness
  • Translate financial data into actionable insights for
  • Champion efficiency, consistency, and scalability across accounting
  • Serve as a trusted resource for accounting inquiries and strategic

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field; CPA or CMA
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years in a supervisory or managerial
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and SOX
  • Experience with multi-jurisdictional sales and use tax compliance, Avalara experience a plus.
  • ERP experience (Epicor preferred); strong Excel
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
