
Unified Talent Group is exclusive in a search with a manufacturing industry leader in the Tulsa OK area, in search of a Materials and Process Engineer. The Materials and Process Engineer is responsible for selecting, developing, qualifying, and optimizing materials and manufacturing processes to ensure product performance, quality, cost efficiency, and manufacturability. This role works closely with design, manufacturing, quality, and suppliers to support product development and production across the full lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Select and evaluate materials (metals, polymers, composites, ceramics, coatings, etc.) based on performance, cost, reliability, and regulatory requirements
- Develop, document, and optimize manufacturing processes, including fabrication, forming, joining, finishing, and surface treatments
- Lead materials and process qualification, validation, and change control activities
- Investigate and resolve material or process-related failures using root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Support new product introduction (NPI) by defining material specifications and process flows
- Collaborate with design engineering to ensure material and process compatibility with product requirements
- Work with suppliers to qualify materials, processes, and special process vendors
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on yield, cost reduction, and process capability
- Prepare technical documentation, specifications, reports, and work instructions
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in materials engineering, process engineering, or manufacturing engineering
- Strong understanding of material properties, processing methods, and manufacturing principles
- Experience with thin film processes
- Experience and familiarity with optical coatings used for performance
- Experience with process validation, material qualification, or failure analysis
- Ability to analyze data and apply statistical or engineering methods to solve problems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
