Shape the Legal Backbone of a Rapidly Growing Healthcare Organization
Are you a seasoned legal expert with a sharp business instinct and a passion for healthcare innovation? We’re looking for a strategic, solution-driven General Counsel to take the reins of our legal function and partner with executive leadership as we scale and evolve.
In this high-impact, high-autonomy role, you’ll be our go-to legal authority—guiding key
decisions, proactively managing risk, and ensuring operational excellence across a multi- state environment. You won’t just interpret laws—you’ll influence the future of our
business.
What You’ll Do
Own the Legal Function
- Be the trusted legal advisor to leadership on all day-to-day
- Identify and mitigate risk across operations, while balancing legal guardrails with business
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of agreements (vendor, employment, NDAs, leases, ).
- Lead compliance efforts around HIPAA, licensure, patient privacy, insurance, and federal/state
Command Strategic Partnerships
- Serve as the gatekeeper for outside legal counsel—escalating matters only when
- Manage spend and coordinate outsourced legal work to maximize
- Oversee legal budgeting and streamline issue tracking across
Governance & Regulatory Compliance
- Drive corporate governance for acquisitions and new market
- Keep all licensing, registrations, and corporate records in check and audit-ready.
- Lead internal policy reviews and rollout of practice-level compliance
Empower Growth Through Diligence & Deal-Making
- Partner with Business Development to shape and vet strategic deals (M&A, affiliations).
- Assess legal risk and advise on deal structure, ownership models, and integration planning.
- Draft and negotiate term sheets, LOIs, purchase agreements, and
Champion Employment Law & Workforce Compliance
- Advise on employee relations, terminations, and accommodations across multiple states.
- Ensure wage/hour, classification, and payroll compliance in partnership with HR & Accounting.
- Handle investigations and guide responses to audits or labor
What You Bring
- JD from an accredited law school + active license in at least one S. jurisdiction
- 8+ years of progressive legal experience (law firm + in-house preferred)
- 5+ years in the dental industry, ideally with a DSO
- Expert knowledge in employment law, corporate law, regulatory compliance
- Proven ability to lead in fast-paced, multi-state environments
