Business Development Manager Position

We are exclusive in a search for a Business Development Manager focused in the electronics industry in the Southeast.  This role will cover a regional territory, and will acquire new customers while nurturing and expanding existing relationships. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, target-driven sales environment, and is proactive, tenacious, and self-motivated with a proven ability to manage and grow major accounts.  This is a hybrid role with approximately 40-50% regional travel within the territory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Meet or exceed core Key Performance Indicator (KPI) targets including sales, margins, and quote conversions.
  • Develop strategic business plans to identify new territories, industries, and product opportunities.
  • Expand the company’s reach into new markets and applications.
  • Proactively identify, recover, and grow declining or lost business with high potential.
  • Maintain a daily sales pipeline using CRM; manage order backlog through ERP systems.
  • Provide accurate order and sales forecasting.
  • Collaborate with operations to align stock levels and profiles with demand.
  • Strategically price and quote to maximize profit margins.
  • Document customer interactions and complete timely sales visit reports in CRM.
  • Recommend innovative solutions and new products based on customer needs.
  • Deliver industry-leading technical support.
  • Represent the company at industry trade shows and events to develop leads and maintain relationships.
  • Monitor market trends to identify emerging sales opportunities.
  • Propose marketing strategies targeted at specific regions or customer demographics.
  • Generate and present regular sales performance reports to management.
  • Collaborate with inside sales and support teams to create tailored growth strategies for customers.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of sales experience in a high-growth, fast-paced environment.
  • 3+ years of experience in electrical components sales preferred.
  • Proven success in lead generation, forecasting, budgeting, and achieving aggressive sales goals.
  • Experienced with CRM systems, pipeline management, and ERP tools.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Professional sales training a plus.
